A graduate of Nottingham University, England, Nafisah began her career  in 1986 as an architect in the Public Works Department.  She left to join  Veritas Architects  in 1992 as an Associate. Within a year, she became a partner and  to set up the Veritas Architects  branch office in Penang.  In 2000, she decided to retire from Veritas Architects and took the challenge to set up NR Architect as a sole proprietor.  She is blessed to have achieved at 40, her 3 millennium target, i.e. to start her own firm with her brand name, to have her fourth child and also to build the family’s dream home, all within the same year.

Ar. Nafisah Radin  has made an incredible mark in the male dominated  building industry  as the sole principal  running a medium size  consultancy  firm,   NR Architect and NR Interior Design since 2000.   Both  firms are  the pioneer Architectural and Interior Design firm in Malaysia which  obtained 4 certification from SIRIM in 16 July 2010 for Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health (QESH).

Currently,  NR has created a niche in low energy, green  and sustainable buildings.  The Energy Commission Headquarters in Putrajaya completed in June 2010 and  featured in the inaugural 9.9.2009 RM1 Malaysia stamp, is  a landmark building  being the first to gain the Platinum rating for Green Building Index (GBI) from Malaysia and Green Mark from Singapore. The said building has won many awards locally and internationally including the Asian Energy Awards in2012. Many of  her works are featured in various magazines and books.

Nafisah prides that the success in her career as an architect and an entrepreneur ,  are based on  strong principles of   professionalism,  commitment,  integrity , creativity and innovation.   She strongly believes that client satisfaction is important and her company tagline is “ We design  Buildings that Stand the Test of Time”.

Currently, Nafisah has achieve a great sense of fulfillment as a result of being able to also give back to society through active involvement in non-government organization such as NAWEM, accepting invitations to give motivation talks at major conferences and also getting involved in educational activities at the various architecture faculties. She is indeed a role model and mentor especially to women in Malaysia.

In recognition of her achievements and contribution to nation building, Nafisah has won various  awards such as the NAWEM Innovative Woman Entrepreneur in the category of professional services in 2004, the Ernst @ Young Woman Entrepreneur Awards 2006, the  Malaysian Women Weekly “Great Woman of our Time Award 2007”, and the “Entrepreneur Extraordinaire” for the National Women Entrepreneur Award 2009 organized by the SMIDEC.
